Fifty for the Future, a group of Pulaski County business and professional leaders, has assembled a broad-based steering committee of 37 community leaders from throughout Pulaski County to initiate a first-ever, county-wide strategic plan.

The committee has retained Market Street Services of Atlanta to assist in the creation of a “consensus community strategy” for Pulaski County. The project – Better Together – Metro Little Rock – will provide the community an opportunity to build on past success, holistically address challenges, and effectively maximize future opportunities. Market Street has performed similar projects for Austin and Nashville with strong success.

Pulaski County has a diverse population, economy, natural setting and social structure. Its population mirrors the State's racial, ethnic, age and gender makeup. Pulaski County's balanced economy derives from state and local government, business and industry, finance and nonprofit sectors. Three of Arkansas's natural divisions converge in Pulaski County presenting a cross section of the state's flora, fauna and geological diversity. The county derives its urban/suburban character from a widespread network of community organizations, neighborhood associations, civic clubs, recreational and sports groups, cultural centers and churches. Located in the geographic center of Arkansas, Pulaski County is one of the state's five original counties and has been at the center of Arkansas government, politics, business, art and culture for almost two centuries, and is home to the state Capital.
